What DAC should I buy?????

I have been researching for couple of days.

I know many people have asked, but I still confused.

I recently got Shure SE 535 and I have Stella Melody speaker.

 

I wonder what I should get for DAC for my laptop.

I see many people recommend Peachtree Decco 2 and I am thinking to pull the trigger.

AND I want to get a portable DAC for my iphone and ipad 2. it seems FiiO E7 is great.

Lastly, my budget is below $1000

 

 

Do you have any other recommendation for DAC?

I mostly listen to vocal trance, pop, classical, and bossa nova songs.

For that budget, there are many good options. You should try them out and decide which you prefer. Some DACs you should audition are the 

 

Burson DA-160

W4S DAC 1

Benchmark DAC1

Audiolab mDAC

Thank you, i will look into those

 

well, i dont know where to audition for any DAC around Los angeles area.

 

I a novice in audiophile world and amazed to shure 535 sound when I tried one from my friend.

People are trying to get an LA meet together, it looks like.  I think HeadRoom actually sponsored a meet in August around the LA area as well.  To bad you missed that one!

 

Good luck!  And definitely find a way to audition the equipment side-by-side with your own set-up if possible.  You'll know pretty quickly if you want to purchase one piece of equipment over another.
