First off, I want to apologize for starting a new thread instead of just posting in the thread that's already available. My situation is a little more complicated and I wanted to make sure I didn't make another thread messy with my questions and comments.
Okay to get to the point, I'm looking to get a pair of headphones for myself. I would primarily be using them for gaming, but I also spend time listening to classical music, instrumentals, piano compositions and watching movies. I would be gaming on my PC as well as my PS3 and Xbox 360, using an Astro Mixamp connected with an optical audio cable. The sound card I have in my PC is an HT | Omega Striker 7.1.
I don't want it to be a headset since I've gone the path of getting a cheap gaming headset since I rarely if ever use any chat options or play on multiplayer.
Here's where it can be a little difficult: my head is sensitive to pressure. I've had Astro A30s and A40s, and they either hurt the heck out of my ears or put so much pressure on the top of my head with the band I can't wear it for more than 5 minutes. I've also had AKG K272HD's and it also put enough pressure on my head to the point where I couldn't wear it for more than 30 minutes at a time. I also wear fairly thick glasses, and so far I've had bad luck with on-ear headphones since they seem to put pressure on the glass frames and hurt the sides of my head after about 20 minutes, so I am going the route of over-the-ear headphones.
I don't care if it's closed or open-back or what type of earpad material is used. That and I don't want to spend more than $300 on these, but if it's worth it I might shell out the money anyway.
I loved the sound from the AKG K272HD's, so maybe something similar to them would work well as a starting point if anyone is having difficulty with any suggestions. I also don't like a whole lot of bass, I prefer a balance between all ranges so I can hear everything.
I've been doing research for a while now and I can't seem to figure out which headphones would fit my needs and be comfortable enough, so any help would be greatly appreciated!
