Closed Headphones €150 (205$) for use at home.

Hi there,
After only using IEMs I started thinking about getting some full sized headphones for use at home.

I'm currently owning the sennheiser IE8 in ears and I really love them..

Because i'm absolutely not into headphones i'm asking here for some advice.
I'm listening to house, hiphop, rock (bruce springsteen, bryan adams etc), and some pop music.

I'm actually looking for some headphones which sound like my ie8's.

Bass is really important to me. Bass must go deep, really deep. I hate bloated midbass (eq'd it down on my IE8)

Highs have to be detailed, smooth and bright but not too bright and harsh.

so i'm actually looking for some warm headphones with a good overall clarity.

I will be using them on a sony a845 unamped... A 3.5 mm plug is required.

I already looked around and found the sennheiser hd25-2, the ath m50 and the shure srh750dj to be on my shortlist.

The shures will be the cheapest for me but i'm worried about the highs and mids. Reviews say they have a really deep bass but they aren't that good in the highs and mids.

Maybe you guys have some other suggestions for me?

thanks in advance :)

ps: sorry for my crappy english

Heya,

The M50 has harsh highs and a plenty of mid-bass and no sound stage. Not likely what you're looking for.

The SRH750DJ has a huge mid-bass hump, and is a V, it's a DJ headphone. Not likely what you're looking for.

Ultrasones by the way are far from warm and smooth. They're metallic, inorganic and bright/zingy highs.

Take a look at:

Denon D2000 - Has the bass you want, the highs might be a little bright sounding, but a minor dB touch up will fix that.

Fischer Audio FA-003 - Everything you want, doesn't have the super deep slamming bass that the Denon can achieve, but has everything else and then some.

Shure SRH840 - Everything you're looking for likely, but it doesn't slam super deep bass like a Denon either, so long as it's comfortable and you like the look.

ESW9 - All the sound you're looking for actually, it would be a near exact match for you probably, but it's on ear not over ear.

M80 - Same as ESW9, likely what you're looking for in sound, if you can stand on-ear.

Very best,

AiAiAi TMA-1 once again gets my vote. Excellent bass, and excelent balance everywhere else too. Light, durable, efficient, minimal, comfortable.

They have a laid back Sennheiser type sound to them... Should be right up your alley.

thanks for your advices...

I won't get the tma-1 because they're too expensive here in the Netherlands and I hate there cheapass design..

the Denon's cost about €320 here and the fischers ain't available here.. I've read some reviews and it seems that the 840's perform nearly the same as the 750dj (750 has more bass)... I can get the 750dj for €100 so they are really attractive atm... maybe you guys over here can covince me to buy something else... :)
