Having now sorted out my main system (Opera Consonance RCD 2.3 Mk. III / Opera Consonance Cyber 20 / HD600), I am now turning my attention to my portable system.

Currently, I am using an iPod Classic 160GB / Qables LOD / Meier Corda XXS / GR07. Since moving up to the GR07s from Etymotic ER6is, I have found myself wishing for more depth and soundstage scale, together with improved dynamics, whilst retaining the XXS' transparency and neutrality. A more "liquid" midrange would also be appreciated. Furthermore, it would be good if the new amp could occasionally drive my Fischer FA-003s.

Musical tastes are classical and jazz.

How far upmarket do I need to look? Ideally, I would prefer a local Chinese brand ( as these are reasonably priced here, and do not attract import duty).

So far, I have come up with the iBasso P4 Warbler (I don't need an integrated DAC). Any other suggestions? Should I be looking at portable tube amps instead? Solutions under GBP 200 would be appreciated!
