Samsung has always been the best feature phone and smartphone maker around.

They are one of the few companies that makes most of their own hardware while being the best at it, from processors to screens. SGS phones that are announced every year at MWC always sets the Android phone standard higher and it usually takes other companies a year just to catch up and then they make another SGS phone, lol.

They are also the only company that makes phones that works in the real world, not just just for ads and display in stores. (I'm looking at you Apple with your facile glass back and HTC with your easily scratched heavy metal back with horrible build quality and internal)

I wouldn't be surprised if samsung phones are amongst the best. I have a samsung tv and a 10 year old lcd samsung computer screen Both have proven to be really reliable. But personally i can't buy a phone being run by google. If samsung galaxy s was a windows phone i would have had no issues getting one. But i couldn't find a windows 7 phone based samsung galaxy s.

I actually like the iPhone 4/4s glass back, the design just feels more elegant looking, i;ll admitt it scratches easily and cracks easily.

I've had my iPhone 4 for 1.5 years now and i must admit it still looks gorgeous, but after 1.5 years of use, i couldn't care less about it now, i just want Samsung's high quality plastic now...

the Omnia 7 is basically the SGS with WP7 and its the fastest out of all the WP7 phones because unlikes HTC (uses micro SD card as internal memory), Samsungs uses NAND flash memory.

High quality and plastic never fit in the same sentence ever.

High quality metal however does.

Plastic is however lighter and easier to make.

It's late now to get one but does it have a large capacity (32gb) internal memory?

theres a big deference between high quality plastic that Samsung and Nokia uses and the crappy ones that cheap companies uses.

plastic that Samsung and Nokia uses are more scratch resistant than HTC's cheap painted metal and Apple's cheap glass at the back.

also, plastic as better reception and shock absorption

May i ask how exactly is the iphones glass easy to scratch? I can't see it scratching noticeably unless i take a knife to it. I don't drop my phones and i tend to baby them. Mine is practically 2x thinker as i use a heavy duty case.

I have a hard time believing that plastic of all things is harder to scratch then glass. That is very hard to see.

But back on topic i looked at the samsung galaxy s2 at the telus shop when i picked up my iphone and yes it looks like a solid device. The screen however was way to big for me. 4" is way to big for a pocket cellphone. But i didn't like the whole android ui. it was to confusing and annoying. I have no doubts it's a great phone in fact i was considering it but i just don't like the way android is designed.

not all plastic is the same, just like not all glass is the same.

I've been using my iPhone 4 for 1.5 years now and I've got to say, I'm sick of iPhones and iOS, i really, really want to change to Android (specifically the SGS series or the Nexus series). thats just my opinion. Not saying your wrong

I never said your wrong. And it's entirely up to the individual as to what kind of phone they want. I have tried android and i find it to complicated. If i am having a smart phone i want something simple and easy to use. If you go with the samsung s2 i hope you enjoy it. It looks like a fine phone. I would be more interested in the tweaks people could do with it seeing as android is open source.

If your sick of ios why do you want an ipad? They are basically the same. Why not go all android and get a samsung galaxy tab or an asus eee tab. I personally don't see the value in an ipad. Seems kind of useless to me. It's not a computer and it's not a smart phone. It's a giant iphone without the phone. But if thats what you want to spend your money on it's up to you. Apple makes great tech but i don't agree with many of their business tactics where they steal someone elses idea and since it's done by apple it is the next biggest thing. Tablets have been out for 10 years but no one cared until apple made an ios tablet. Thats not innovation thats good advertising.

yea good point, thats why I'm hesitating to buy it or not
