looking for a light, comfortable, non leaking all day headphone

Hello,

I'm looking for a headphone to use on my computer. it will be mainly used for watching movies, tv shows and some music - but mainly movies.

Im currently using sony mdr-xd200, which i like because they apply almost no pressure on my head, and they are light. But the wear and tear is starting to show on the cans, and i need an upgrade. mistakenly i bought Sennheiser hd 515 which i cant put on my head for more then 20 minutes without physical pain in my cheekbones.

Can you recommend a sub-100$ pair, which is bass heavy, but ight and comoftrable for an all day listening experience? also, i prefer them to leak as least as possible.

AIAIAI TMA-1 is closed, comfortable and has a warm, dark and bass-heavy sound signature. I prefer the HD25-1 II myself but must admit the TMA-1 is way more comfortable. Looks better too. :) If you're not looking for a portable, check out the Superlux HD662b and get some velours for them. The 662b is the bassiest of the HD-series and is a great bang-for-your-buck alround closed headphone.

panasonic RP-HTX7 are a good choice for you, and they go for around 30 USD. Check them out. But they may get a bit hot after a while.

the Panasonic RP-HTX7 are constantly recommended ^^

I've never heard them but I assume for 30 dollars, and with all the recommendations they must be a steal. Either that or they're a MASSIVELY overhyped FOTM, which I doubt.

Superlux 662B would be a good choice in my opinion.. its closed, and quite comfortable, at least for me.. or get a verlour pads for the as the other guy up there recommend.

I'll +1 the recommendation for the AiAiAi TMA-1. It might be a bit out of your price range, but it is durable, the AiAiAi customer support team is reputed for its service, and it is light, comfortable and bass heavy. If you ever need to listen to something without so much bass, it responds quite well to EQing, so that's a plus there. It also has a detachable cord.

Guys do you realize that the TMA-1's are over the op's budget? i second the 440's with 840 pads...with eq tweaks you can have more bass.

I realize that, but we all know that buying phones that are just enough to suffice is a bad idea. The OP will just come back later because the cheaper pair he got broke or don't sound good enough. Instead of satisficing for what's in your budget, save till your budget fits what you actually need and can last you.

however, if you do need to buy within the budget with no hopes of removing the constraints, the SRH440's, 840's or even the lowly 240's (220's?) with pads will work as well.

Thanks guys ,

Whoa, whoa, whoa! Do -not- get the Panasonics if non-leaking is one your criteria! They're semi-open, even though they are marketed as closed, and leak a lot of sound -- not quite as much as a fully open pair of headphones, but they leak more than any other closed headphone I've ever heard.

thats the HTF, but the RP-HTX7 doesnt leak at all, even at high volumes
