Maximum passive noise blocking

Thread Starter

Hi people,

A little background: My job requires me to travel a lot with train and let me tell ya these things in Italy are loud like a freaking factory! Listening to music without damaging your ears is impossible while riding... I feel like it's damaging my ears even not doing anything. I have tried Sennheiser PX 360 which didn't stand a chance in blocking train noise and was completely useless.

A Solution: somebody suggested me to look for industrial level ear protection to fight the train noise (Bilsom headphones).

Has anyone tried them? any feedback on noise blocking capability? is there a better alternative?

thanks

As far as the headphone industry goes I'm pretty sure something from Etymotic Research (maybe ER4P?) isolates noise up to 42db. I'm not sure what kind of things goes on in Italy but that's certainly enough to barely notice the sound if you're riding the subway.
