can someone recommend me headphones that are better than the beats pro? - Page 2

The TMA-1 extends much deeper than the Beats bass. It's also a much more textured bass.

Beats tend to have '1-note super bass'. There's a ton of it, but it all sounds the same. The TMA-1 will give you a much better understanding of what people mean by mid-bass and sub-bass.

Guys keep in mind the op stated he is in canada. Most headphones in canada are marked up so the good deals you guys think of our not easy to come buy here. For example sennheiser hd 25 1 ii is on average $250, Shure srh840 is on average $200, shure srh750dj is $180, beats pros are $450, etc. Unless the op wants to order from the usa and pay huge import duties he is stuck with paying more. Keep in mind with import duties you will eventually be paying the same anyways. I have heard stories of $100 import duties on m50s for example. Just keep that in mind when you recommend something which can be had for in the usa. Prices are inflated here.

Audio Technica ATH-M50 have their fans, but I believe currently their price is a little on the high side for what they offer.

The ATH-M50s were cheaper earlier in the beginning of the year.

How about the Audio Technica ATH-A900s or Denon AH-D2000 (good bass), both are easy to drive.

Also Audio Technica have come out with new closed headphones, the A500X, A700X and A900X.

I'm a fan of the Beyer DT770 Pros, but you need a good headphone amplifier to bring out their best.

If you buy used headphones from a private seller in the USA, might get them shipped into Canada with out any import duties.

You'll probably do fine without an amp.
