FA-011 can be bought from a Russian online store called GD Audiobase. It takes a while to get to you though.

What's the rationale behind choosing 600 ohm for the Beyerdynamic DT 990? Wouldn't the 32 ohm option be easier to drive perhaps negating the need for an amp?

600 ohm is easier to match amp due to the 1/8 rule, for one. 600 ohm are supposed to be better if you have a decent amp.

Someone else bought the FA-011 from GD Audiobase, when they needed warranty service, GD Audiobase stopped returning his emails.

DT880 32ohm?

The Grados, SRH940, and M50 are the only ones on the list that won't need a good amp.  If you don't want to have to buy an amp look into the AKG242HD, Beyerdynamic DT440, Audio Technica AD900, or if you want closed the SRH940 or DT250 80 ohm.
