I've heard >90% of the chips that are discussed in his comparison, and I'd agree that as much as IC opamps are limited 797B gets the crown very_evil_smiley.gif

That thread mentions nothing about the AD797AR.

 

Have you heard the AD797AR (not ARZ)? LT1364CN8?

The ARZ is RoHS compliant

The AR is not

Is the performance boost really significant enough to merit that? I'm trying to keep costs as low as possible,

as I'm not the one buying everything. The Essence ST itself and the op-amps are my birthday present, so

I really don't think my dad would approve if the op-amps got expensive. Considering shipping and adapters,

the cost of the op-amps would be over $60 if I did as you suggested, or roughly $40 if I went with an LT1364CN8.
