Ridiculous things changing sound? (Other than cables)

Well, as title said.

I lied down on a couch, played some high volume hardstyle (colours of the harder style - showtek) on my M50s

Bam sound stage (I personally feel the M50's without this lying down treatment crap has quite a nice soundstage but is veilled by the sub bass!) Sounded like it was coming from speakers.

So.. lying down improves soundstage? o.OOOOOOOOO

Anything will change the sound if you think it changes the sound.

I completely agree with you there :P I also feel soundstage is a EQable trick tbh....

EDIT: Heres what I mean. Try cutting lower bass (under about 70hz) and increasing mids/human vocal range (1khz by something like 3-4db, less for other frequencies)

Soutstage is more to do with the amount of air, the size of the cups and how the sound reverberates inside. But EQ may very well create an illusion of it, as IEMs have hardly any room for such.
