It won't be before February, at the earliest unfortunately.  In the meantime, I am off to the gym w my M-80!

Interesting, if it would sound even better than M-80 that would be cool.

Thought I would post on here that v-moda put a post on their twitter saying "Your mission: RT! For every 200 RT we’re giving away Crossfade LP2s! See  on Tom Cruise on  "  they posted it on the 22 of december and is currently still on their home page without having to load more tweets. I retweeted, will you?

Not sure if this is the right place to post, but would someone be able to tell me the difference between the lp, lp2 and m80?

I'm looking for more of that punch bassy sound similar to the xb700??

From my understanding:

     m80 has accurate tight bass

lp: has loads of bass but muddy

lp2: loads of bass but slightly less muddy

The LP2 is like even bassier than XB700 with much more punch/impact in the bass as it's a lot more stronger in the midbass while it might be tiny bit less strong in the subbass compared to XB700. I haven't heard LP1 but I thought LP2 were still quite muddy sounding, too recessed highs and slightly unbalanced in the mids and the midbass is slightly overhelming the mids too. M80 are probably a lot better sounding based on the reviews/feeback, I can't imagine such glowing reviews for LP2 at least. :P

I got my pair for Christmas as my first headphone above $100 dollars. I have to say I love them. I've heard a few good headphones, and I am subjected to Beats on a daily basis. These are perfect for what I wanted them for, nice bass for all types of EDM, but not too much for some Rock with the right EQ. They feel super super sturdy, and they look stellar. I've listened to them for about 12 hours, and they continually get better and better. These are perfect portable headphones, I will be bringing these with me wherever I go.

I must say, I expected these to be a little more comfortable than they are. I might have big ears, don't really know, but these start to wear me down pretty quick, just a quick shift on my head though and I'm good to go.

I'd definitely recommend these to anyone who likes their bass heavy.

Now I just need to grab a nice open back set for at home use and I'll be set.

Yeah, these are crushing my ears pretty bad, wearing them during revision, so all the time for several days straight, but otherwise I really love the sound now it's burnt in a bit.

For over-ears they really do seem rather small.

So Yeah, After about 3 weeks ownership I really can't recommend these, even as my first pair of decent headphones. I even have an E7 now, as my sound ouput on my computer broke, and the sound is really just disappointing.

However, what I wanted to ask now was people's opinion on whether the LP2 was suitable for gym use. It doesn't directly have any foam in contact with your head, so I wasn't sure, but my head is probably the sweatiest part of me during exercise, so I wanted to check. Any advice?

You probably shouldn't use the LP or LP2s for gym use, I just got a pair of LP1s from costco for 80 dollars.  The band is porous so sweat will definitely soak in.

Btw guys, I know that 80 bucks is the best deal for the original LPs but what has been the best price for the LP2s?  I've never seen the LP2s for under 180.

I looked for LP2s on amazon, but the cheapest was $199. Is there any deal or store with them cheaper?

I think your best bet is to grab them off the V-Moda site when they have a special going on and it will cost around $170 shipped.  I couldn't find a better deal anywhere else when I purchased mine.

We don't have many... so discounts will be rare, we are trying to be #10, we were rising to #4 and that is too high for us so we put the brakes on production.  V-MODA wants to be exclusive and be a long-term brand. we think very differently than profit-driven organizations.

Check out the reviews on LP2, its insane!  the tweaked sound I truly believe is the best we've done for modern "consumers" and DJs... Keep in mind the environments and music these people listen to music, this is crucial to their POV and subjective analysis.  In a subway, plane, stage, cube or in a room all has an impact on perception.  M-80/M-100 is better IMO for critical listening and producing music, but LP2/LP for non-critical listeners of EDM or pop is going to be hard to beat.  And for producers that want to replicate the sound of a club for "club remixes", LP2 is like a Function One system.  M-100 has some properties of LP2 but we extended the highs to the extreme without raising the volume to create hearing loss.

Here is "consumer" reviews of LP2, interesting that it's our highest ever and LP is #3-6 on Amazon of ALL headphones, #1 on Newegg (of all headphones):

I beg to differ, try a pair of M-Audio Q40, I think it would be a very valuable "evaluation" against LP2 especially, it goes for street price $120. :) Now I'm only talking about the sound characteristics though, LP2 definitely offers a more solid build quality for example.

In the future, maybe you could release a LP with more even midrange (no peaks plz, either u make whole midrange evenly boosted or you don't boost it at all but a 5dB spike or so in a narrow frequency band is never a good idea) and slightly less recessed highs, I understand LP2 was targeted for DJing or loud-volume listening where slightly recessed highs might be welcome but I feel it doesn't have to be quite 4~5.5dB drop at 8~16kHz range, if it was more like 2.5~3.5dB that would be more reasonable.

Frequency response comparison between LP and LP2 (from Innerfidelity).  Top is LP and bottom is LP2.
