Upgrading Beyer t5p cable

Hi everyone.

Bought myself a pair of those a few weeks ago, and I enjoy listening mainly via my iQube v2. Alas, yesterday I started experiencing disconnections of the right side. Apparently, there's a bad contact in the cable.

So, I thought to myself, what a perfect time to replace it.

Since they don't sell shelf-product t5p's cables, I'll have to resort to DIY. I'm all hot for the Oyaide plugs, but what about the cable? And what about the modding procedure? Opening the cups and replacing the cable? Is it easy or hard with this specific model?

Also, if you have this pair and have an upgraded cable, I'd love to hear about that. I need your advise on which cable to buy.

Thanks everyone,

-Matt

Any thoughts?

Had a similar problem with mine. Had to re-solder and insulate 3.5mm plug. Not a job for the faint hearted either.
