Mysterious Focalprice IEM's = AMAZING! Impressions and comparisons inside - Page 13

From kanen iems best is km928, sound bit better than km92 and build too, thoughi havent heard newest models from kanen. I have heard awei esq3, realy good detail and bass, but no separation and as always bad build, break fast as kanen, xkduns, sunrise xcited and brainwavz beta v2.
For example black ck700 driver suddenly stopped work.
I now wait awei es900i and kanen e20. In my opinion still best budget earphone is soundmagic pl21, due to great build quality. Sq wise they isnt better than ck700 despite $15 price, but they will last.

The AWEI ES600-M have surprisingly good build quality; strain relief at the jack is a bit too hard, but it's a flat cable and it's a very, very soft cable.  Strain relief at housing is superb, and housing shape is near ideal (wish they'd had rounded the front edges a bit, but it's still comfortable).  Lots of driver flex, but that's what you get with non-vented IEMs.  Most annoying thing with them was bass bloat.  If EQ'ed down, they're quite competent but I don't like having to EQ to get good detail retrieval.

Didn't like the PL21 SQ at all; I felt they were very boring.  Good build, but I'd rather wait for a sale on the Brainwavz M1 or ProAlpha than get the PL21.  Granted it's more expensive, but as soon as you move above the 10$ mark, you're out of the bargain basement earphones IMHO :)

The white CK700 are my go to iems right now. I have the comply T400 tips on them and they work great. Hopefully they hold up for awhile...

I'm really curious if there's a difference between the white CK-700 and the black CK-700?

The color doesn't really matter to me as long as it's not purple or anything like that, so if no-one can confirm the white and the black are the same I will just go for the white one. According to the focalprice website they have the same name: EP771W (white) and EP771B (black), so I imagine they have the same sound. But you never know...

I already ordered the Thermaltake Isurus and the Philips SHE3581 (same as 3580 but white). It looks like the SHE3581 is very similar to the CK-700, but when I get all three of them I will compare them. Beware though that I'm not really an audiophile...

I also wanted to get a pair of the Monoprice 8320, but unfortunately I can't get them in the Netherlands without paying 30 dollar for shipping costs. Also, I'm afraid that they aren't going to fit in my small ears anyway. The sound quality might be better than the other three but comfort is at least as important as sound quality, certainly with IEMs this cheap.

Thanks for your response!

Does anyone have both black and white CK-700 that aren't defective?

My white CK-700 arrived today it took just over five weeks. To be honest they aren't to shabby. When you consider the price, nice boxing they come in they'd make perfect gifts or knock around IEM's. They actually have good bass, (mids sound a little thin) treble is surprisingly good. and If I am hearing correctly a nice wide soundstage. I can see why they got a mention here.

My CK-700 and CK-900 arrived yesterday after 5 weeks of waiting time. Out of the box there is some driver flex. CK-900 can be left out even tough from same company its not good .

CK-700 is good for the price. Bass is  good , they don't go as deep as xears but quantity is plentiful, trebles are quiet bright. Quiet forward in mids.
