Howdy there folks of Head-Fi,
I'm a brand spankin' new member of the site, and I like what I see so far. :3
I make this post in the hopes of finding a decent quality full size headset that is compatible with a PS3, for around $100. I hit the search bar before making a thread, and I didn't find much useful info there, although that could just be my own ineptitude.
This is to be a gift for a friend, and he has been interested in full headset for a while; never got around to getting one. I thought I would humbly ask for the expert advice of the frequenters of Head-Fi.
There are, of course, the Turtle Beach headsets you can find at Wal-Mart, which are sold for the primary purpose of use with gaming consoles. These are wireless, or at least all the models I've seen are, and my understanding of wireless headphones is that there is a significant drop in quality of the audio from wireless to cabled.
I know my friend is interested in surround sound in a headset, but I'm not convinced by the so called "5.1" and "7.1" headsets that are around for gaming.
So give me your ideas, and thanks in advance for anything you fine people may be able to offer.
