Ultrasone hfi-580 vs 780

So i'm looking to get some nice headphones for christmas and my budget is around $150. I like a lot of bass and listen to a lot hip hop, rock, and dubstep. I heard the 580's are a little bassier but when I check online the 780's are cheaper despite having a higher msrp. On amazon and ebay the 780s are about $150 brand new. The cheapest I can find the 580's for is $190. How are the 780's?

Heya,

780 is a little more refined than the 580. The 580 is the bassier more visceral headphone for your genres. The reason for the price difference is because Amazon and lot of places base prices not just on MSRP, but on popularity of purchase. More people buy the 580, therefore, they up the prices to bank on that, while they have too much stock on the 780, so reduce it's price to move it out. They're both great headphones. The 580 will do you well.

Very best,
