Strangest comment on your audiophilia?

Hail,

I could imaging some of you would have some great stories about things people have said in regards to your audiophilia, so I thought why not make a thread about it?

For me, it has to be one day in class when I was looking at some frequency graphson my laptop for the Audeze LCD-2, Ultrasone Edition 8 and on some STAX. One guy, in the middle of class, shouted "Look, Jaster is looking at his porn again!!"

Obviously everyone looked at me and I showed the graphs and had to explain..

Embarrassing situation, but quite hilarious.

So, what's your best story?

I don't really have a story, but in regards to my love for IEMs, many of my friends genuinely believe there is something wrong with me for owning so many pairs and are serious about finding a psychiatrist for me.

"You should have spent the money to fly to Japan and go see your favourite singers in real life instead".

I completely agree with them, but I just can't take time off to travel there, because on the few days per year that they perform, I'm stuck at university. My holiday over there will end just two days before a live performance, and I can't extend my stay. mad.gif

I feel so heartbroken that I'm actually going to get the SR-009 just to make up for it. My terrible logic being, if they put in so much effort to sing, I should at least do whatever I can to hear them in the best possible light. Oh man I'm starting to sound like an audiophile, semper fi, my jailbait.

pretty much similar.

I was In the classroom with my laptop, when a girl a row ahead of me wrote on a piece of paper: "U looking at porn??"

"no", I replied

then she said "my bro has the same face when he looks at porn".

so I gave her the url of the website I was looking at....

"Why didn't you just get beats and get it over with." - Most annoying question/statement that was made :)

"You know starving children in Africa are starving because you spent so much on stupid things." - Ouch. That was probably the strangest comment I've got.

"Get a drum kit instead!" - One of my best friends.

"oh you love music! me too i've been buying Bose stuff for years now, cause i want the best"

the dude told this straight to my face with the white apple buds around his neck.

I heard the wire on the apple buds are pretty effective at strangulation.

This isn't even close to the same premise as the thread that you linked to.

I always find the question "Do they sound... Good?" pretty inane, and I've gotten that bad boy a few times. Why would I spend that much money if it didn't sound good?

at least you get a question of quality - I have NEVER gotten that. For me it's always the "I bet they can go really loud?"... what? really?`the headphones don't even control that for the most part.. and most headphones will be stronger than your ears anyway OF COURSE they can go loud...

Oh crap, it's been a while since I heard the "How loud can they go?" one... I freaking hate it when people ask that.
