Best value this year:

1.)  USAF-596 Rectifier & tube adapter

2.)  Bryston BDP-1

Excellent! By the way, I have my eyes on a couple of your tweaks - Last Record Preservative; Hunt EDA record brush. What kind of volume (unit) at what price for the Last Record preservative? Hope I can afford it, my return to vinyl depends on it!  biggrin.gif

Yeah, Last is expensive, but they say the small bottle will take care of 200 records.  I have 50 of my must have in my office and working on them.  Am only using it for records that are compelling.  I got Last at the Tweak Shop online, and when you are ready to buy, let's I'll buy one as well and maybe we can get a few folks to join us to get a discount.

I know!  All the stuff listed in the Best Value section is the stuff I purchased this year and in the other two categories.  What can I say, I put in a lot of effort before I spent the cash and found all the listed gear to be the best value.

The year isn't over yet though! very_evil_smiley.gif

I have so got my eyes on power cables.  I really love that link you posted in the Wyred thread.  I may just get good connectors and snip off the ends of my stock cables and then at some point, order just the cabling parts and reuse the connectors.

Group Buys, you're brilliant! Who doesn't like money? And naturally, any monies saved are to be redirected into the system. biggrin.gif

WarriroAnt has stirred some interest inside my listening room. Shunyata looks intriguing...

You're all good with those WireWorlds you have!

Two good ones:

1.  Buying the Grado RS1i

2.  Deciding to go to a local audio club meet where I won a raffle for the Rx2 Tactical Edition.

Went into DIY.

Good value, and it allows me to build wonderful things that one can't simply buy.

DIY - this is an upcoming stop (and coming quickly) on my audio journey. Saving money will be nice. But creating something with my hands will be far more rewarding. I see audio as art that sometimes has a lil' science mixed in... and Voodoo!

If I may ask, what did you start out with first?

Dubstep Girl! Glad you were able to make it over and participate. (just read your kind and over-the-top comment... her so sweet!)  wink.gif  For Coolest Avatar of the Year, I'd nominate WarriorAnt. If I were new to head-fi and shopping for my very first full-size cans, I'd only have two questions for WarriorAnt: What are they? And where can I buy 'em?! biggrin.gif

Thanks for sharing. I just tripped over Tyll's energy last month and started following. But if I hadn't, I would have started right here with your mention of Innerfidelity.com.

I'm with you! Have you gone down the DIY path yet? I'm going to start eye-balling some space inside the listening room. The garage is roomy, but the thought of being away from my Woo is too much! And no, baby ain't going to the garage...
