Fiio E10 vs Cmoy

I own Sennheisers 280 HD Pros and have just ordered Sennheiser 598s (haven't received them yet though). I had previously purchased a Cmoy portable headphone amp (OPAMP 2227) and it worked pretty well. I have now purchased the Fiio E10 and I love its DAC capabilities. However, I was curious how the amp included in the Fiio E10 compares with the Cmoy I purchased with its particular OPAMP.

Also, just to confirm, the Fiio E10 has a line out port. Does that mean if I connect it to another amplifier (say my Cmoy), I get both the DAC features of the Fiio E10 and the amp features of the external amp? Using the line out port as opposed to the headphone out doesn't stop the Fiio E10 from functioning as a DAC right? It just stops it from using the E10's amp? If the Cmoy is superior to the E10, I may consider using the line out and connecting it to the cmoy if I can still get the DAC capabilities of the E10 as well.

Yes, when using the line out of the E10 you are only using the DAC section and bypassing the amp.

Great! Thanks for the reply. Any opinions regarding the Cmoy vs the included amp in the E10?

I think by using a external amp u will be losing some signal via a longer path..
Plz try if u have a E10 on hand..wouldlike2 hear ur impreesion.

I did try with the E10 and the Cmoy attached to the E10 as the amp. I liked it better with just the E10, the bass seemed to be better controlled.
