notebook newbie checking in.

I haven´t found this CPU or video card or amount of memory and size anywhere else so I am wondering what is the catch with these pavilions? Why are they so cheap also compared to low price brands like Acer?
Curious about noise levels. I hope for movie streaming to TV and surfing, music listening it will be noiseless if you run the HD 3000 graphics and downclock the CPU?
As for the speakers it seems to be important nowadays for media center notebooks? I found it a bit odd that they spend time implementing some kind of surround sound system but not offering spdif out. I suppose you can´t get it all if you are on a budget it appears...
