PC360 or HD598?

Hello,

 

I am in the market for a new pair of hedphones.

They would be used mainly for online First-person Shooter games on the Xbox  (used along with the Turtle beach DSS Dolby 7.1/5.1 sound processor).

These are my two choices, HD598 or PC360. Both of them are at the same price. So, which one should I pick in terms of "best bang for the buck"? Thank you!

The HD 598s sound way better. So if you can go without the microphone of the 360 it would be the better choice.

From what I read, the HD 598 has slightly better SQ and the PC360 is more like a HD 558. Not a huge difference though so I guess it depends on which of their aesthetics you prefer and if you want the PC360's mic or not.

I think you guys didn't read the topic clearly. It is comparison in terms of "best bang for the buck", HD 598 obviously has better sound quallity, but would the lack of a mic make up for the improved sound?

That depends on how much you value the convenience of having an attached mic. Keep in mind you can buy a external mic for a few dollars so in terms of "best bang for your buck" , I doubt the PC 360 is worth it.

I have the 598s and they're sublime. If you're good with open back cans you can't go wrong with them.

I disagree. I think PC 360 is worth it. Boom mic is high quality and does not pick external voices like external mics. And its really handy when you want to mute mic (just lift it up). They also have integrated volume control. Sound quality is really good. Maybe not as good as 598 for music listening (only heard once briefly) but still top notch.

 

If you are gamer I would take PC 360 over 598.
