Ok I just installed the ST today and everything seems to be working fine.
Just one thing, I keep hearing this 'clicking' sound whenever I switch channels from 2 speakers -> Headphones and whenever I restart or turn on my computer. Is this normal?

Yes tha'ts Normal.
Yes, it's normal. You'll also notice the clicking noise when you boot up your computer.
Maybe I should start a new thread for this since this isn't about the H6 card anymore
Looking back, I wasn't sure what the other installation setting were for, I just went with the default installation shown. What are the other configurations like Low DPC Latency, C-Media Panel and C-Media Panel (GX enabled) for?
I remember using ASIO bit match playback when I was on my old X-Fi Fatality in Audio Creation Mode, should I have checked ASIO 1.0 Patch? Is there bit match playback on the Essence ST?
What is GX mode and what is it for? I read it has something to do with 3D?
Is there any way to fine tune the equalizer other than using the mouse?

GX (latest version is 2.5) is software that emulates Creative Labs EAX 5.0 (for gaming), I do not think you will use it.
Yeah you're right I don't think I'll be using GX.
I'm totally clueless when it comes to using a equalizer, I've been too comfortable with simple BASS & TREBLE adjustments to learn how to use a full equalizer.
Let me know if I got this down,
Xonar's equalizer looks like this, 30 60 120 250 500 1k 2k 4k 8k 16k
30, 60, 120 is in charge of low end (bass)
250, 500 is in charge of mid bass
1k, 2k is in charge of midrange
4k is upper midrange
8k, 16k is high end (treble)
SVN or Smart Volume is some sort of volume normalizer?
Is that about right?
Lastly, how do I control ASIO output volume through the Xonar control panel? I have ASIO output plugin for Winamp but it's very loud and I can't control the volume.
