Subwoofer/Speaker/Amp guide?

I've always only used headphones to listen to music mainly, and car stereo systems, whatever speakers the computer might have, etc.

 

I know nothing about good speakers, subs, amps, and the sort.

 

Where can I read up and look into purchasing a quality sub/amp?

A lot of that will depend on your budget, musical tastes and the size of your room. There are so many variations out there that you have to narrow it down.

Also, a sub isn't always necessary. A pair of good floorstanders can give you all the bass you want without the placement/integration issues.

I would suggest AVS forums - they even have sub forums for speakers, subwoofers, amplifier/receivers, 2 channel audio and the peeps are knowledgeble yet friendly beerchug.gif

You need to ask more specific questions, and be more specific as what you would want from a system.
