I hate soundstage; I need help!

Thread Starter

I apologize in advance, because I really don't know what forum this kind of thread belongs in.

My issue is that soundstage and positioning in music makes me feel like I'm going insane. This greatly deters my enjoyment of classical music (I used to really love classical as a kid). It also doesn't help that I'm buying a Miracle soon, which will definitely be an improvement over what I currently have.

Any suggestions?

Speakers, mono mixing, or Grados.

Try a crossfeed plugin, too. It'll mix part of the right channel into the left and vice versa, with a delay that makes music sound like it's coming from in front of you.

To some extent, I can understand this for classical music.

What headphones are you listening on?  You might want to get something that has a deep soundstage, rather than a wide one.  Angled drivers that give you a different impression may also help some.

The crossfade advice is also good, and really helps a lot of people with listening fatigue.

Grados headphones or a crossfeeder plugin, either will help.
