Those are extreme measures you went to
I didn't even have to go that far. The medium oval silicons the headphones were fitted with in the box, were perfect for me

I couldn't get a good seal with any of the stock tips, only a small amount of movement and I would lose the seal. Without a good seal getting good sound quality is impossible... I switched to sony hybrids.
The other issue that made a difference was how far away the actual housings were from the earguides. When the housing is too close to the earguide, the whole assembly is stiff and I found that movement would easily break the seal. If you have a little more cable showing between the earguide and the iem it makes the assembly more flexible.
Only one kind/size of Jays Foams was produced. If you can still find them for sale, as they were discontinued a while ago, they're the ones to use with the GR07...
Can someone comfirm that using Ts 400 foam will not affect the sound after using the mod?
I can confirm that using the Ts400 will affect the sound! Using some foam tips with the GR07 will slightly change it's sound, but to me, in a very good way! The Ts400 with the core mod (and some other foam tips I tried) will slightly improve the bass response, while removing almost all the harshness/sibilance from the highs...

Thanks. So all foam earbuds will indeed muff the highs. I thought that with the bigger bore of the ts400, the sound will be the same. Must go tips hunting again...
Not all foam tips will do that. I've tried Shure Olives and they make the GR07's highs sound even worse. I think that happens due to their really thin/tight inner rubber bore...
Coming from the Brainwavz B2's (DBA-02's) with Etymotic tri-flanges, I'm thinking about purchasing the GR-07 MKII's for a different sound. I will be keeping my B2's to be able to switch between sound signatures when I'd like to (or maybe when running, since the B2's with tri-flanges are great for that).
What would be the best tips for the GR-07 MKII's compared to the Ety tri-flanges? I prefer deep insertion of the tips with a good, seal that stays. I've read different things (i.e. Sony Hybrids, Jays silicone)
The Etymotic tri-flanges also seem to fit, but do they give the best experience? Or should I go for a completely different pair of tips, because of the different sound signature and because I plan on still using the B2's?
Thanks :)
FYI, I stretched out some Comply T100s Comfort versions. These are more rounded, not as long and have larger openings. I used a pencil and pushed them down on them. They fit wonderfully well afterwards on the GR07s and sound great to my ears.
i find i get the best seal and sound so far with sony hybrids but the one that seal which i believe are size small tend to hurt me after a bit any suggestions on something else to try
Thanks, could you elaborate? Did you put them on the nozzles and then pushed down on them with a pencil, or what?
