Help! First pair of cans!

Hello to everyone!

Sorry for my entry-level english: I don't speak/write english since I was at school (more than 20 years ago!).

I'm looking for a pair of closed cans:

Budget: not over 250-300 euros!

Use: i will use it at home only, for listening to the tv and the pc for cd, mp3 or webradio.

I need very good isolation from external noise because in some situations I've a very noisy enviroment!

And finnally, wireless: no cable,no stress.

Now, what I have found.

- Sennheiser MM-550 (are the same of the PXC 360BT?) with the BTD 300 Audio dongle

- Sony MDR-DS6500

- Sennheiser RS 170

I start from zero, so give me an idea of what to buy!

Thankyou!

Any help?

If I were you I would go for the Sennheiser RS series.

If you can stretch it ~ hang for the Sennheiser RS220

According to Head-Fi TV it sounds like a Sennheiser HD600 powered by a decent soundcard

all without the cables.

It's not anywhere in the country over here, they certainly have a lot of ground to make up.

I used to own the Sennheiser RS100 and brought mine back, absolutely terrible sound

quality.

Rs 220 is an open back headphone, I think it's not right for me because I need good isolation.

Rs 180, Rs 170 are open back too?

If so, I have to start from zero another time.

Does exist a noise-isolated wireless headphone?

Wht can I buy?

Try to find one of the ones with KLEER wireless technology. They'll be your best bet. I believe the RS180s use KLEER, so I would personally go for those.

Do you have a Bluetooth device? This might be your last bet, I'm out of suggestions after this tongue.gif

No, i should use them on tv, no bluetooth connection.

Sennheiser has the dongle key with 3,5 mm jack input and bluetooth 2.1 output, the BTD 300 Audio.

So the the limit of bluetooth seems do not exist.

And I've seen the MM550 and the PXC 360BT too.

It seems audio quality of these bluetooth devices is lesser then the RS series, and I think the price is a lot higher.

On the sennheiser site the RS 170 is "Closed"

http://www.sennheiserusa.com/around-the-ear-headphones_502874

I was wrong, thinking at it "open".

I will try to buy this one, but I don't know where, in Italy.

Is there any serious internet seller you know, who can send the item in Italy?

(Thankyou for your time!)

They should lead you to a local dealer in your area in Italy. They're the official Sennheiser Italy distributor.

Hello everyone!

I'm here back.

I bought a Sennheiser RS 170, closed back, wireless headphone.

Sound is very good, very good product.

Unfortunately I have noticed that in the presence of signal, there is a slight background noise, perhaps from the internal suond card.

With the headphone connected to the computer, when the sound, for example, fade out at the end of a track, a faint sound only at the left side becomes audible, and stops about half a second after the music is definitly in silence.

Same thing, when the music fades in, that noise start immediatly.

In presence of normal volume music or speach (using the tv) it's not annoying.
It's a sin, it's the only flaw the RS170 have.
