I have the hd558s and i typically use them on my PC with the onboard Realtek audio.  They sound great but would I see a major improvement with an amp or new sound card on my pc with a budget of about $100?  If so can anyone recommend me one or the other or with both for a total price of $100?

 

Also i know Sennheiser has changed the material on the HD 598 to fix the cracking problem, what about the HD 558?
