Question about Fiio A1

Hi. First of all I'd like to say I'm new on this forums. Excuse my english but I'm from Poland.

I've got some question about Fiio A1.

I've bought a new soundcard because onboard realtek sounded very bad. It's soundblaster xfi 5.1 usb pro. Then I bought headphones: AKG K514. When I'm plugging the headphones to my iPod the sound is just great. It's an other story when it comes to my new soundcard - sound is just ok - it sounds like it behind something in some cases. And there's my question: do you think its possible to make sound better by buying headphone amp like Fiio A1 or nothing can be done about the quality of the sound? And if its possible maybe there's some other amps i should check (price 100-150$)? Thanks in advance and sorry for my english - I was trying to write down my thoughts as clearly as i could.

The A1 is a speaker amp. The E9 is the headphone amp so that's the one you need. You can further improve your sound by upgrading your soundcard to something like a Fiio E10.

Thanks for the reply. I will check E9 and E10.
