Galaxy S II source vs Cowon Questions for SE535

Okay, so I'm new to portable audio but I have a few simple questions.

Is it worth getting a dedicated Cowon media player over the Galaxy S II? Is the sound quality that much better?

I don't mind having to get a Cowon if it's a better media experience (FLAC is really nice), but my main thing is the sound quality difference.

And if you think I should go Cowon, which ones are any good? I'd like a rather simple one, $300ish. Don't need android, just a 32gb capacity. Ideally something that's their newest and greatest, I love sleek thin and beautiful UI things. J3? I9?

Sorry for the noob questions.

The SQ on the Galaxy S2 isn't good at all. Comparing them to my iPod Nano, the SQ on the SGS2 is a joke.

Agree. I own a GSII along with a pair of Shure SE535's. The GSII has terrible sound quality - so weak. I'm going with a Cowon J3 32GB.

Samsung really dropped the ball on this one. All the rest of the Galaxy phones have the amazing Wolfson but the SII does not. They made a superior device spec wise with the SII but they forgot the sound quality frown.gif. Hopefully they pick back up with the Galaxy Note or the Galaxy Prime. Actually, I think they already confirmed what DAC will be in the Prime. It is a TI chip from what I read. Not sure how that will fare against the Wolfson though...
