Hi head-fi,

I want to ask you about the Sony MDR-V700DJ's.

Are they comfortable? and How is the bass ? I am not a DJ but i kind heard good things about this headphones.

What do you say ?

I auditioned one. If you are a serious bass-head okay.

If you value more than just exaggerated bass the HD25 and K181 are better options.

If you just want a fun headphone with good bass, excellent isolation and for a lower price just go for the K81/518. Remove the small cloth in between the ear pads and you get more midrange and highs. If you can live with less isolation and a more clear and detailed presentation the PX200 II is worth it.

How is the general sound in the Sony's?

It has bass. The store where I auditioned the V700 only played electronic dance music of which the bit rate was unknown. I had it on my head but I could not stand the sound for long. Just try to audition the V700 for yourself. That is all I can tell you now...

the v700dj is a headphone with a lot of bass, which will probably do you good with dubstep, but metal it does ok because of its harsh highs.

If you want to get these cans, just avoid purchasing them on ebay, the cheap ones are all fakes. This headphone is one of the most counterfited in historyeek.gif.

Real ones should be acquired with an authorized dealer, and they usually go from 75 to 88 dollars.

good luck.
