Novice needing some advice on which- DAC & AMP to buy!

Hi I could really use some advice from the community on product selection; I’ve looking to purchase a DAC & AMP for first time. FYI I’m complete novice at this and I’m totally out of my element. I’ve been trying to educate myself as best as I can and I been hunting around on multiple sites looking for suggestions on what to buy but I’m confused by all possibilities, product features and specs. I’m trying to put together a desktop system that will suit my needs, my budget is around $1600.00 I already purchased a pair of Sennheiser HD 650Headphones now I’ve got to figure out what run them with. I’m considered the products listed below I hopping someone has experience with any of these units and can steer me in the right direction.   Like any consumer I want to get the best bang for the buck in terms of features and performance. So what will offer me that? Also I have this nagging question should go integrated DAC & AMP or separate?  Should I consider combining different products? Please any help would be much appreciated.

Consider the CEntrance DACport, Yulong D100, and Matrix Quattro, too. You don't need to spend that much for good performance.

This just came out. 6moons reviewed the 160D, which is the DAC, amp, plus a preamp. This is a lower cost model since it is without the preamp. I'm assuming it has a similar DAC and amp stage. Actually it's probably a bit improved. Anyway, point is, it got a great review and it appears to be damn good for the money. There's not a lot of opinion on it yet since it was just released. Regardless, I want to give one a try with my Hd-650's. :-)

Why not get a dac/headphone amp/amp and speakers combo? That way you can choose between the speakers and your cans.  There are a lot of good choices for $1600.  The centrance dacmini px is an integrated amp plus headphone amp and dac but it will kill your budget since you won't have any money left over for speakers.  You could get the peachtree decco2 integrated amp/headphone amp/dac combo and ds 4.5 speakers for $850 and have plenty of money left over for new music: http://www.vanns.com/shop/servlet/item/features/531077421
