AD700 Upgrade $200 Adjustable - Need some advice

Hey guys! I have bought the AD700's but since I have a smaller head they cover my lower jaw. This is an excuse for a new set of cans!

I need the following criteria to be satisfied:

- <$200 shipped, preferably nearer to $150

- Near same soundstage as AD700's, worse is OK as long as not too bad

- More bass than AD700

- ADJUSTABLE

- No more than 128 Ohms

Was considering

- ATH M50

- DT770 Pro 80

Any ideas? Cheers everyone.

AD900? Better in every way and they are slightly smaller than the AD700 so they might not cover your lower jaw...

No set of closed cans (certainly not near that price range) is going to get close to the soundstage of the AD700. 

 

You might try the Sennheiser 558 - very different sound signature though.

I have no problem staying with open cans.

Exactly the way I would describe it. Good to know it's not just me with this issue! Anyways...

DT880's sound good.

What low impedance version would you recommend?

You listed two closed ones as options, I just thought I'd mention it. :)

 

I also agree with thelostmidrange - you might take a look at some Beyer 880's, though they maybe out of your pricerange, new.

Does anyone have experience with the DT770Pro's?

How are the Senn 558's?
