Hi,

 

i found these fully functional heaphone plugged into the LP of my grandfather who didn't use it much. They look nearmint and have no visible damages. I did a little research and I guess that these are the famous sextett heaphones.

 

I would appreciate if somebody could verify my guess and tell my how much they are worth.

Yes those are Sextett's, looks like the pads have seen better days, but apart from that they look minty.

Thanks :) The earpads are just a bit recalcitrant (if that is the right word) and dusty. I clean them and they should be fine.

 

Now that I know that these are the sextetts I am looking to get an offer for them. I live in germany and international shipping would be possible :)

Why don't you just buy new pads for them and enjoy them?  They sound better with new pads.  It's a must.

But those were you grandpa's, At least get to know them first, They really are something special. The best 100$ i ever spent on audio i think.

These are the perfect headphones for you, they are all about making music sound good, no fancy garbage.  Just highly musical.

True, if you just want one set of simple phones, vintage K240's are the best bet, they never get old, and last for ages.

IMO thing that makes the sextett so special is the tone. They got the tone just right on these. That's why they sound so musical. The thing they lack the most is refinement. But I will take them over a lot of more expensive headphones that have more refinement because everything just sounds so real.
