FiiO E7 and IEMs Question

The audio jack on my laptop has strange beeping sounds when I plug in my Shure SE315s, so I decided to buy a FiiO E7 so I could use the USB DAC to by-pass this problem, but when I bought the portable amp, the salesman told me that I shouldn't use the E7 with IEMs because they would get damaged due to the power of the amp and that they were for full sized headphones only. The combination seems to work well so far, but I'm afraid that my IEMs will break if I continue to use them with the E7, so is it true that I shouldn't pair them up? Thanks for any help you can give me!

No, E7 won't burn your IEM. In fact, E7 is designed to be used with sensitive headphone. Whom ever told you E7 will burn your IEM obviously doesn't have much knowledge in headphone and amp. Unfortunately there are just too many salesman just like that out there.

hyang12, how well does that thing sound by the way?  I am considering purchasing one.

Thanks for the help! Well to my inexperienced ears, the E7 doesn't make too much of a difference at least with the Shure SE315. There seems to be a bass boost due to the EQ feature, but it's quite minimal at least at level 1. I bought it mainly to remove the background noises my laptop's sound card causes and it does quite well there with the DAC feature.

It's much harder to distinguish improvement in clarity with IEMs, because the sound is too congested and lacking in imaging compared to full-sized headphones.
