I have a Thinkpad T510 and was hoping to use the USB port (better quality that the headphones jack, right?) to output video and audio to a surround sound receiver and that receiver would then direct the audio and video to the appropriate devices (speakers and TV).
So I purchased a Yamaha RX-V471, connected the speakers and then connected the laptop to it via USB and voila.... nothing. What am I missing here? Sales guy said it would work......emphasis, I guess, on "sales".
Just trying to get into the 21st century here and stream some A/V off of the laptop.
