Yo,

so I just embarked upon my journey to auditory bliss (music and gaming) with a budget set-up consisting of the JVC HA-RX700 and a Xonar U3 USB which I will, later on, use to feed a digital signal with Dolby Headphone to a proper DAC/amp combo. I'd have gotten the internal DG card, but apparently it doesn't do DH over SPDIF.

Anyway.

As I like to plan ahead I've browsed random DACs and amps and what not, and they pretty much all have two RCA outs in the back instead of an extra simple 3.5mm line out. That's a problem, as I'd like to hook up my Creative I-Trigues to the dac/amp as well. They use a plain old 3.5mm stereo jack to get sound, which then goes into the subwoofer and it splits it into L and R RCA and does whatever else it's supposed to do.

Is there any way I can still hook them up to such an amp without having a horrid cable mess by using a splitter for the headphone amp out (which is probably not a good idea in the first place, sending an already amped signal to my sub)? Apparently you can't use a 3.5mm Stereo to RCA splitter as a joiner lest I blew up the world or something, but there has to be some way right?
