does anyone know where i can get some hd25-1 ii replacement cables? or is it worth it to upgrade to a different cable?

If you flip the drivers upside down, you can use any HD600/HD650 replacement cable, either stock or custom. Just known that you now nave a Y cable versus a single entry.

Just checked eBay and the prices seem high for an original replacement cable. You can get an HD650 replacement cable for about $25 shipped and if you want the 1/8" jack, it's pretty easy to replace the 1/4". The HD600 cable has 1/8" jack but is more expensive.

It really depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

Why do you want to change the stock cable??

I do not see why the stock wire should be changed. The 1.5 m one is so fit on desk.

Going from the original steel cable to a copper one will change the midrange - it will be smoother. The steel wire is very technical, copper (I can only speak on behalf a DIY DHC cable) is more musical and not as straight-in-your-face like before.
