There is a store in Miami on 54th street that has them in stock. I called and had them check earlier today when I was confirming the $40 tag on them. Can't your store order from any RS in the US? Or does it have to be in the same state/area?

They SHOULD be able to find you a pair and have it shipped to them.

That's a VERY good question, might have to ask about that next time. If they really are able to do that that's amazing customer service indeed. Kinda like inter-library loans. LoL

I had mine shipped from another county in my state if that helps. And I even called to confirm if they will do a price match since I just bought them a few days ago for $80. They said yes as long as i have my reciept, purchased within 30 days, and the sale price doesn't go back up. I'm going on Thursday to get my $40. Great customer service, indeed.

Could a store like BestBuy price check this sale? None of my local RS have these in stock.

You should try it and let everyone know...

They will price match if you have an advertised price, so will guitar center (which they have the m80 on their website. However I can not find an advertised price and I am finding out my m80s radio shack sold me might be faulty. First the case and one button cable were missing (which they told me), however I found out the cable is stuck in the jack. So I believe this is a floor model and not a new one like they claimed, and sold it to me as. I would not mind that at this price however the jack that connects to the cup spins and the channels fade in and out when that happens.

So I will have to see if radioshack will fix it or replace it from another store, or if vmoda will fix it (doubtful as radioshack is not on their verified sellers list). Otherwise I am contemplating returning them, as I fear the jack into the cup may ultimately fail at some point.

I have yet to find a advertised price for the M80s on clearance. I'll call around later today to find out.

Well seeing as the price isn't advertised I was wondering if anyone has done anything similar.

Just picked mine up for $40!

Posted this in another thread but I figure I'd post here as well in case no one visits the other thread

I got lucky and the radio shack at the South Bay Galleria here in So Cali had one left. The box, however, was already open. Looks like it isn't a return but can someone confirm that all looks good? And are the ear cups really that small? I was under the impression they were over-ear vs on-ear.

That's them. The M-100s are over-ear.

The way the headphone cables are makes it look like a return to me.

God, it's been a while since I posted. I'd think none of you know me, haha, oh well.

paulsancheezzee, that's them. They are the smaller, more portable version. You're thinking the M-100 Crossfades. Some people will tell you the M-80s are better.

They don't look like a return. Mine came in a similar way--one loose cable (the half red), and one strapped in. The boxes aren't sealed, so there's no way you can tell if it was opened or not. Looks like new to me.

I just picked up a pair myself at Radioshack. I went to my closest one today and looked and couldn't find a pair. I asked the guy there and he called around and found me a pair down near the strip (I live in Vegas). I asked if they could hold it, and they said they couldn't (they lied! ). Anyways, after my rush to get to the store before they would sell the last pair in Vegas (I went to the wrong store first) I got there and found out they held it for me. Such a nice girl. :p  Anyways, I got them and have been listening to them since.

First impressions:

Thin... they sound nicely balanced, with deep lows and nice highs. Maybe some veiled mids, and the sub-bass is real clean... which isn't my fav. I like some bloated sub-bass to add thickness to the entire spectrum--like my T50RPs have. Because of this, the sounds is rather thin, but accurate. Kinda reminds me of K702's with their thin, detailed and accurate sound, but more balanced. I really hope they fill in after the burn-on. They are one of the few cans under $1000 (and under my T50RPs) that I've found can accurately position Bvdub's bass on Had I Been a Better Man.

Comfort-wise, I'll need to stretch the headband a bit, but the cups are nice and soft and headband is great. Looks and size is real nice and I can see myself keeping them around my neck all day without problem. The real, ultimate problem is the cable. Microphinics on a headphone? Seriously? Did they have to cover the cable with cloth? And it's memory. Why?

Are they worth the retail price? Not really. I'd feel comfortable paying $100-120 for them; other people might pay more (and have). Are they worth $40. Yes, yes, yes. Great headphones for the price, just maybe not worth the higher range for me.

That's what i was thinking. The only thing in the box other than what you see in the picture was a product card. The paper on the earhphones, however, don't appear to have been removed or tampered with. Either way, if there's any problem, it still has a full warranty on it. :)

Day 2 update:

I had a FiiO E11 that was sitting around since I felt my Monster Miles Davis IEM's didn't really need it. I decided to charge it and try them with the M-80's: holy crap what a huge difference this makes :) Best $40 spent this month!!!
