After reading about the number of recommendations to use passive speakers with an amp instead of computer speakers, I decided to go into my unused equipment to try it out. I pulled out my vintage Concept 7.5D receiver and my Axiom M22ti speakers. I ran my line out from my computer to RCA inputs for the Tape Drive on the receiver. The Receiver has connections for 3 pair of speakers; however, the instructions on the back say to run no more than 2 pair at any one time (A+B or A+C) and the speakers should not have impedance under 8 Ohms.
My Axioms are 8 Ohms; however, I have another pair of speakers, DCM KX6, which are rated at 6 Ohms. I only listen to music at moderate to low levels. Would I likely damage my receiver if I hooked up both sets of speakers and ran them at the same time?
My Axioms sound great but I am like everyone else--looking for just a little extra.
Bob
