Okay.

Nice review! Sounds like a monitor without the treble tilt, good stuff.

Have you had a chance to listen to the srh840 or KNS8400? Does it compare at all?

Uhh.. You guys made us feel uncomfortable about all this and LFF's reviews.. We really did not send FA-006 to LFF, and this review was kind of surprise to us as well. Especially since we have some future plans to change the looks (this golden plastic thing bother us as well) and some additional touches to the sound, but just to busy with another projects at this moment.

Kiteki, we are sorry for your experience with Marcus, you can ask for refund. Marcus did not turned good and have fairly high failure rate. Also I see Tau and Una in your profile, all this iems was aimed at the mainstream Russian inner market. You know, we must make money on something to be able to put out some good stuff, and our overseas sales are not big enough and hard to maintain for plenty of reasons (we are looking forward to fix many of those soon, though). We are sorry again for any problems you got, and again, you can ask for refund.

I didn't know the qjays is cheaper than the dba2... :cool
Tot it's the other way around, Retail vs retail.
I liked the dba2 for it's Russian bite to operas.
I sold it becos the white n black twirled cable doesn't go with my executive suit...lol.

Refunds will be paid in roubles...? wink.gif

I can't string together some good sentences with proper grammar,
so anyone who bothers to spend time writing reviews I do appreciate the effort..redface.gif

Once again, I want to thank LFF...
NOW CAN U TELL ME SHOULD I PULL THE TRIGGER ON THE 006?!!!!!!
Dammmm the word HOLOGRAPHIC!!!!!!!
Dammdammdammm I can't sleep !!!

hmph, missed this. meant to get a pair from GD-Audiobase to replace my dead dba-02

>Nada....I just know there is v.2 coming out. It looks completely different AFAIK. Don't know about the sound.

very interesting.

Bad form, I know, but the thread got slightly derailed, so I'm reposting the questions.

I've seen the phrase 'baby brother to FA-003' elsewhere and I don't fully understand what it's trying to convey. And is the fit actually loose or just not tight (if that makes sense)?

At the moment I'm torn between the following options (GBP but it's just to show relative pricing):

FA-006     55

FA-003    110

Lindy        75 (not yet confirmed whether there's any difference to FA-003).

Any advice on absolute performance and price to performance?

Thanks.

Thanks for the review LFF.. I'll be recommending these to my brother if he likes the sound of my FA-002w when they get here.

FlySweep: Out of curiosity, how would you compare the sound signature of the FA-006 to the GR07?

LFF, I think your overview went great for these cans and I enjoyed it but just out of curiosity, do you have

other headphones in the same price range and have you compared them to these?

(i.e. maybe Shure 440s, KRKs, etc. which seem to be similar to this one?)

Thanks.

Coming in late to this party...

But yeah, these do sound fairly decent. No major frequency response regularities, at least with my ears. This is the headphone's greatest strength. I suspect there could be a lot more improvement from dampening or mass loading the cups. The drivers sound like they have some potential.

The other sub $100 headphone I can think of is the Grado SR60/80. The Grado is faster sounding, but it also shears off your eardrums.

Glad you enjoyed it!

I have heard many headphones in this price category, hence why I recommended it highly. The KRK's are a bit shrill sounding to me..much like their monitors. The Shure 440's are good entry level headphones IMHO but they don't articulate as well as the 006 does. The feel the drivers of the 006 are more resolving and provide better detail across the entire frequency range. The Grado SR60/80 has usually been the entry level headphone recommendation of choice. The two major problems with the Grado's in my opinion are their bright high end and their open design. The 006 by contrast has a neutral sound signature and isolates much better than any Grado.

HD600 is better in all ways.

K702 and D770 - that's debatable since they don't sound as linear as the FA006. For me, the 770s have too much bass. K702s have too much treble. It becomes sort of a "pick you own poison" thing.

now we are getting a better fix....thanks purrin beerchug.gif,

how about vs the akg271mkii / k272 HD closed cans from AKG, are we getting closer to what the 006 will sound like?
