Choices for headphones

Thread Starter

Hey I am new to the site (Officially, though I have been using the reviews for a couple of months now to figure out what headphones to buy). I make music and I enjoy listening to music, My problem is that I have come down to 3 choices of studio headphones All are in my price range. Should I get the Fostex T50Rp's, the ATHM50's or the ATHM40's?

Thanks

Not the m50, they are very v curved and wouldn't give you proper results while producing, and yes i have heard them in person.  Don't know about the m40 but i have experience with t50rp and k240 and would recommend either of those, probably the k240 as they are more balanced, also both of those would need an amp from portable device.  A laptop could probably push them though.

The k240's are a good price and a good looking pair of headphones. Is there an amp that would go and in hand with the T50rp and the k240?

Portable or home use? Budget?

Hmm it would have to be portable. I don't have a studio in my home. and my budget... Lets say $150 max for right now.

Hmm without amping a Shure 840 seems to be the right choice for you.  Don't worry too much just go for something that we recommend and you are pretty much guaranteed to love it.
