thanks, that looks just about perfect. the grub apparently involves loads of TINY soldering which is well beyond my abilities. and i definitely have loads of those kinds of cables lying around. :)

The Behringer has a pretty ****ty headphone out (I have one lying around, destroyed it trying to mod it) without mods. If you'd ever want to be able to plug headphones: skip that one. 

 

I'd go for the Zero DAC. Tried, tested and very modable if you'd ever want more performance.
