This is a review of a pair of free IEM's I recieved from DUNU as part of a give away contest they recently held here on Head-fi. When I recieved my package the first thing I notices was...

Best closed headphones I had heard - very flat response, almost no midrange distortion, very easy to drive (good for portable), good soundstage (definately better than K240), good isolation, but...

Overall excellent buds, very good sound quality, especially for their price, the medium set of tips fits exactly in my ears and provides a near perfect seal. Bass is very detailed, but not...

I'll keep this very short. They are very smooth sounding. Treble toned down so not so good for rock but have a magic about them that makes them better than mark 2. I use them with a '89/'90...

If I own Denon D7000 Should I consider a Sen HD650? - Page 3
If you end up buying used make sure it is one with out the preamp output. They used to call them 3plus. Now all the Woo3s are made that way.

Thanks for the tip! Did you upgrade to the sophia princess on the Woo 3? is it worth the upgrade..?

After all these years I use what it came with. Not sure about any Sophia for it, but there may be? There is a ton of folks using aftermarket tubes and tuning the sound.

Sooo.. I got the Sen 650s and I ended up returning them.. while I really liked the fact that they had no sibilance whatsoever, I just didn't feel like they offered my anything more than the D7000s and the Ultrasone 2900s... I had them running on my peachtree and the WA6 and they were good, just not as good as my other sets (to my ears) also they felt much cheaper made than my other two.

The D2000 were all I needed to convince myself that the HD650 were unwarranted. : )

The HD650 has no sibillance. Just as the sun has no clouds...
You satisfied your curiossity and made a choice that works well for you. (And one I agree with.)

Thanks Shane, I'm actually really curious about the new wireless RS220 which is supposed to use the HD650 drivers.. A wireless HD650 like headphone would be very impressive, It has a hefty price tag, but I can see that decreasing over time (just as the 650s did)...
I keep my HD650 in the drawer since i bought my D7000 last year, the sound of D7000 more clear more details and more bass compare to HD650

That was quick! How long did you own the HD650's before they got run?! I'm firmly hangin' with you in the D7000 camp, just curious. Also, about how many hours would you guess you have on the D7000's?

Actually I'm into the sound of the Nuforce and AH-D7000s. I only really play rock and metal so I'm easy to please. If you do some research you will find a large group around here that like the combo. Your not going to get a ton of buttery smooth magic but it gets the job done.
I have a great story about the Denons in my main system with the W5LE.
I own this view of things only due to some unexpected changes found after my purchase of the 7000s. Before at a show the experienced members loved my rig but pointed out different things which I had too little experience to truly understand. My set up at the show was a phonograph. a Woo5LE and the Denons. The system was smooth and slow. There was magic in areas but other aspects of the sound were muddy.
I often read about members having issues with the Denon mids and I only write this due to my total surprise at things. I really think that the others that heard my system liked what they heard but their more experienced ears knew something was amiss. They stated the system was great for jazz and classical but lacked speed. At that point the members didn't really know what the system issue was weather it was coming from the headphones or the amp or the source. I just liked what I had as there was aspects to the sound I loved. I just thought like everyone said, the Denons have a distinctive muddy mid.
I changed to an upgraded power cord. Even with all the opinions that things like this will never work.
Then the surprise happened. My issue was the simple computer power cord going to the Woo 5 LE. With some headphones and amps maybe this will not work but for me it was like getting a new system. The headroom changed and became much bigger and in that space was detail. Inside the detail was the PRaT I was missing. Gone was the fuzzy mids. It is now in a tiny little area that you have to have only heard them the old way to recognize.
Whew! Before I got deep into your post, I kept thinking to myself "Muddy mids with the D7000's? On what day?!" Glad to hear there was a happy ending. For me, pushing through all the alleged muck in the middle is a W4S DAC-1 w/upgraded Digital board; Low ESR "Super Caps;" Wireworld Electra 5* power conditioning cords with 24k Gold Furutech plugs on the Woo & DAC-1; Wireworld Eclipse 6 Interconnects; TS-BGRP VT-231 1940's.
I may lack the 5LE but still ain't lacking for clarity in the middle.

I got them to about 200-250 hours (the HD650s) had them only for a few weeks, my D7000s probably have 400+.. I've lately been going through so many headphones that they haven't been getting much head time
.. But the more I listen to other cans the more I appreciate what the D7ks have to offer. I always go back and think hmm Denon got it right with these.
Totally agree with you, but sometimes I get tangled up in my cords and the RS220s being a possible wireless HD650 would be great for me... for watching movies/tv I feel like warmer cans tend to do movies better.
