Making Shure HPASCA1 Headphones Straight Cable

Hey DIY Head-Fiers,

I was looking for a straight cable for my Shure 440s but after forking out for the headphone and the SRH840 pads, I don't want to spend any more money. Shure in the UK is a little overpriced and they charge ~£23 for the straight cable and obviously I want to save some money.

I just wanted to know is it possible to make a similar cable without spending that much? Ofc if I make my own cable then I will be able to braid it and all sorts and choose my own length, I won't need such a thick cable either. I've got a cheap soldering iron and a heatgun along with cable braid and heatshrink, but I've only done a few minor pc mods and that's it really so will need help with this!

Many thanks!
