i redeemed this pair from credit card points, but not really  my taste i guess. I would rather prefer the earphone that comes with the Sony Xperia Z fone...

I dunno why but it is just my 2 cents i guess.Thinking of buying those from me?tongue_smile.gif

I doubt the lower bass would be a strong as you'd want it for those types of music.

You're better off going for a BA not Micro-Dynamic.

Andreas,

Which BA model is suitable for R&B? TF10? I find the EPH100 to have just the right amount of thump for that type of music without sacrificing the rest of the frequency range.

What credit card rewards offers the EPH100? Time for me to switch credit card companies haha.

They do have a nice thump, however the bass isn't as deep or rounded as I would like for for RnB music.

I guess I would go with a cheapie dynamic like soundmagic e10 or a ba like tdk ba200.

Huh? Most BAs have lighter bass. The Yamahas pack a very decent punch by comparison.

Maybe lighter punch, but not nice smooth rounded off bass like a BA would provide.

Yamaha EPH-100 is really bang for the buck. Seeking to upgrade based on it, with IEM up to $300 offering more bass...

You should check out the discovery thread mate, a couple of new IEMs that are 2x cheaper have beaten it already.
