Yeh after years of use is normal, happened plenty of times to me with other headphones/earphones. If the EPHs did it after years of use, I wouldn't have made a fuss about it and wouldn't be a design defect. If someone told me that the chances of it dying were 90% after 2-3 years, would not care at all.

Well currently it's at 400$ at amazon.com. There's only one listed price.

Unless you are talking of the old model ie8.

I would have expected the ie7 to work indefinitely, as it has absolutely no trace of wear,

and I use it quite occasionally. I managed to "repair it" by blowing / sucking on vents, but that's not perfect.

But ok, you were unhappy with the eph-100 , that doesn't reflect everyone's experience.

took 4 days from Italy to Aus. 

I know it doesn't reflect everyone's experience. I'm just warning others that on the off-chance that it does happens to them, it will happen to them again even if they get a brand new pair. 

Yes can we have a separate thread for issues since its the same couple people bitching for 20 pages just repeating and repeating the same thing.  We ge the point thank you.   

Will be getting through it over the weekend, hopefully finished on sunday.  Its funny to read some of the comments though.

Actually it wouldnt, I would repeat the same issue over and over and over again on almost 20 pages in a row. 

I have had plenty of phones fail on me and most of the time havent even put anything up on it le alone bang on for 20 PAGES.

It's implied in your post. What you said was:
