Mine started sounding better after the 50 hour mark, and I haven't heard any changes after that. But consider that I'm using foam tips with mine...

i didnt notice any change at all.  In fact i have 2 pairs now one with over 300 hours and another with about 1 hour.......sound the same to me.

Well, I started using foam tips with mine around the 50 hour mark, and they sounded better. Not sure if it was burn-in or the tips, though...

I did notice a change. Bass was prominent on open box, much leaning towards basshead edging towards bleeding into mids. After a few days of casual listening this appeared to tone down. I've read a few other members experiencing the same. Apart from that, not much else to report. I never truly burned them in so to speak.

I still have them here.....somewhere. rolleyes.gif

still think its something to do with your type of ear.

most likely, called it from the beginning lol, the design doesn't cater for people with more moisture in their ears.

maybe if i could get one of those comply foam tips that has the built in ear-wax filter, that might help with the moisture issue, but i don't think they make any that fit the EPH100s

It's time to move on.

Ahah yep... might have to make the transition and force myself to use over-the-ear IEMs now.

Now i'll have 2 EPH-100s that are useless to me lol

You just missed a pair of GR01 already in Australia on the FS boards for $160. rolleyes.gif

Once you get used to over the ear you may find you'll never want to go back.

really! :(

damn it, i never check the for sale section on this site, only check OCAU.

Thinking of getting the IE80s, not sure how much different the design is to the GR07s, didn't like it as I couldn't keep them over the ear properly without the uncomfortable chin slider and they were fairly uncomfortable because they were squareish and provided fairly bad noise isolation for me personally. However the IE80s look like they are curvey towards the nozzle which look more comfortable.

I have issues with my pair of EPH-100, i lost the sound in the right ear a couple weeks ago, blowing on it and general violence fixed it but now i have just lost the right ear, so far the same tricks do not help. I am kind of pissed since finding them and ordering them through audioaffair.co.uk was long and painful and i really like the sound. First and last time i buy anything Yamaha me thinks.

So, how does RMAing work, gotta go through Yamaha or the reseller? This sucks frown.gif

Sorry to hear that :(

RMA'ing won't help you if you've got the problem in your first pair - it's caused by your own ear canals.

I've been through 3 pairs with the same problem, some having it a lot faster in use than others.
