Yamaha EPH-100 - Page 70

You might be better off calling and then telling them you'll pick it up. That way you can just call again if they say no and see if someone else will say yes. Better than going all the way down there and leaving with nothing or worse, paying retail. And if you call, you can at the very least confirm stock. In my experience there, the phone representatives are much more likely to drop the price. Good Luck.

No discrimination, I'm more interested in enjoying the EPH-100's for now and comparing them with the triple driver - three way crossover UM3X and some of the $500+ professional studio monitors I work with (and have worked with), including YAMAHA, Samson Rubicon series (Ribbon tweeters), the more expensive Mackies, etc. And for God sake don't insist on the Panasonic HJE-900 joke, you don't even know the Yamahas.

I think they're technically roughly on the same level, but their sound signatures are pretty much an exact opposite. The EPH-100 have more deep bass emphasis, whereas the HJE900 have more mid-bass. Mids are slightly forward on the Yamahas and slightly recessed on the Pannys. Highs are rather polite and somewhat recessed on the Yamahas, but forward/sharp/aggressive on the Pannys.

Is there another FX1000 that came out recently? If not, then it is the FX500 re-branded as the FX1000, as detailed in the old thread below.

Don't let yourself be disappointed...I won't promise miracles but the sound has changed very noticeably with around 50 hours of use for me.
