Shipping TO China, What's your experience?

So far mine with USPS, one package (a return) was sent to Hong Kong on Sept. 27th and another (defective, waiting to be tested/replaced) to China Oct. 13th, neither* has yet to show up at its destination.

I didn't purchase tracking, but the Customs Declaration has a code on em, both got to the Chicago USPS sorting facility after 2 days and it stops there, I'm from Minnesota, USA. So far I'm out 400 bucks collectively with no product and I wish I could have purchased tracking so I could sleep better at night.

*Delivered Oct 28th

Too bad it wasn't both of them, maybe I could talk about it more and it'll magically get to where it needs to be.

I recently shipped a return item to Hong Kong from Northern Europe as a regular registered priority letter. It was mailed on the 18th, arrived in Hong Kong on the 22nd, and then took two more days to get to the recipient.

The problem I had was the guy didn't know the package had arrived (it went to his local post office, as the envelope was too big to fit the mail slot). I don't know if the notification slip got lost or what, but I had to point it out to him that he should go and pick up the item; he had still been happily waiting for it to be delivered to him. Without tracking, and thus me knowing where the package was, who knows how long it would've taken.

I sent one parcel with EMS to Hong Kong in September 2010. Arrived there 6 days after posting and everything went without any hitch.
