Hi, i've had this problem for over a month now and haven't got anywhere. I'm completely new to this kinda thing so bear with me. I've recently bought the MOTU Microbook. I've installed the necessary drivers from the included CD and I have sound, lovely sound. But when i go into Control Panel and click 'Volume' for the Microbook, i get this message:
"There is a problem with your sound hardware. To install mixer devices, go to Control Panel, click Printers and Other Hardware and then click Add Hardware".
I want to be able to use my Microbook to play music in a chat room called Paltalk. But without a mixer device, i can't change the soundcard from 'Playback' to 'Recording'. Which is obviously what needs to be done to be able to play music in a chat room with any sound card. When i first installed the Microbook, i installed the PCI 424 driver from the CD with it. But i read on another forum that you don't need it for my situation. I don't have a clue if this is true or not (like i said, i'm completely new to this sort of stuff). But with or without it, there's still no mixer devices. Anyone else using the Microbook that has any idea what i'm doing wrong? I'm using XP Professional, SP3. Any help would be much appreciated, i'm pulling my hair out here! Cheers.
